A Development Sample turns the product direction into a physical reference. A Pre-Production Sample verifies that the current order can reproduce the approved direction with intended bulk materials.

01 — Two different samples
Development starts with direction. Production starts with proof.
Keeping the two samples separate makes product approval, costing and production responsibility easier to control.
Develop and correct the product.
The factory makes this paid sample from the working brief, reference or concept. It is used to evaluate materials, construction, fit, footbed, outsole, color, branding and packaging direction.

It is not a production release and does not by itself confirm final price, MOQ or delivery timing.
Verify the current order.
The factory makes the PPS after the order conditions, PO, PI and agreed initial payment are confirmed. It uses the materials intended for the current bulk order.

Every new order, including an identical repeat order, requires a new PPS using that order's intended bulk materials.
02 — Correct sequence
The PPS comes after commercial confirmation—not before it.
Each gate depends on evidence from the previous stage. Skipping a gate transfers unresolved risk into production.

The factory turns the working direction into a physical product.

Approve the direction
Corrections are resolved and material/BOM, colour, fit, measurements, construction, branding and packaging are confirmed.

Confirm quotation
Mocario issues the formal quotation after actual inputs are evaluated.

Confirm PO and PI
Product, quantity, price, payment, delivery and control requirements are aligned, and the PI is signed or confirmed by email.

Make and approve PPS
The current production version is checked using intended bulk materials.

Release production
Bulk purchasing and production start only after written PPS approval.
03 — PPS release gate
Written approval releases the bulk order.
Mocario checks the physical PPS before submitting relevant photos, video and information for customer review.
Freeze
Confirm the approved reference, material/BOM, colour, fit, measurements, construction, branding and packaging.
Compare
Check bulk materials, construction, measurements and presentation.
Approve
Release purchasing and production through written approval.
Control rule: no written PPS approval means no bulk purchasing and no bulk production. Unapproved material substitutions are not accepted.
04 — After PPS approval
Keep the approved standard visible through shipment.
Mocario remains the customer's commercial and project-management contact while the partner factory executes production and internal quality control.
