01 — Before sampling
Define the decisions the sample must prove.
A useful sample is not simply a moccasin slipper that looks similar to a photograph. It is a physical test of material, construction, fit, appearance and commercial feasibility. The brief should state what is fixed, what may be proposed and what still requires evaluation.

01Share the product direction
Provide reference images or a physical sample together with the intended market, use, size range, quantity and timing. Identify mandatory details and areas where alternatives are acceptable.

02Convert inputs into a working brief
Mocario organises the information into a structured request, checks whether the project fits our moccasin slipper scope and separates confirmed requirements from open decisions.

03Assess materials, structure and risk
The partner factory evaluates material availability, construction feasibility, existing component constraints and project MOQ. Alternatives are proposed when the original direction cannot be reproduced responsibly.
Output: a feasible sample scope, not yet a production quotation.
Commercial confirmation
04Confirm the sample investment
The agreed sample fee and courier arrangement are confirmed before work begins. Courier charges may be paid separately or handled through the buyer's shipping account.
Output: authorised sample work with clear commercial boundaries.
Partner-factory execution
05Make the development sample
The partner factory prepares patterns, confirms available materials and components, then constructs the physical sample against the agreed brief. Mocario follows timing and clarifies questions during execution.
Output: a physical development sample ready for review.
Mocario follow-up
06Review and document the sample
Before dispatch, Mocario reviews visible construction, materials, workmanship and alignment with the brief. Photos, video and observations accompany the sample so the buyer knows what requires close evaluation.
Output: a documented sample shipment for buyer assessment.
Buyer feedback
07Correct against specific feedback
The buyer reviews fit, feel, appearance and specification details. A confirmed factory deviation is reviewed for correction; a buyer-requested direction change is reassessed for cost and timing.
Output: an actionable correction list or approval decision.
Formal confirmation
08Approve and freeze the reference
Written approval confirms the agreed sample direction. Measurements, materials, colours, construction, branding, packaging and test requirements are recorded as the basis for formal quotation and later PPS preparation.
Output: an approved development reference and frozen specification.
03 — Approval logic
What sample approval actually fixes.
Approval should attach to a physical reference and its supporting records. A photograph or informal message alone cannot control every detail of later production.
Shape, fit and appearance
Toe shape, collar, proportions, fit comments and visible workmanship.
Upper, lining and components
Material references, colours, thicknesses, footbed and existing outsole selection.
Methods and measurements
Seams, stitching, assembly method, size range and critical measurement points.
Branding and packaging
Logo placement, label content, packaging direction and market-specific requirements.
04 — After sample approval
A confirmed sample is the start of production control.
It does not authorise bulk production by itself. The commercial order and pre-production approval sequence must still be completed.
Formal quotation
Mocario prepares the formal price after the developed product and requirements can be assessed.
PO, PI and payment
The correct purchase order, proforma invoice and initial payment establish the commercial order.
PPS preparation
The partner factory makes the PPS using intended bulk materials and final production documents.
Written PPS approval
Bulk material purchasing and production begin only after the PPS is approved in writing.
05 — Sample policy
Clear responsibilities before work begins.
Paid development
The agreed sample fee and courier arrangement are confirmed before development begins.
Brief deviation
A confirmed partner-factory deviation is reviewed for correction against the approved brief.
Direction change
A buyer-requested change is reassessed for feasibility, cost and timing before work continues.
06 — Start a project
