01 — Development logic
Define the product before asking production to price it.
A reference image can show a direction, but it does not establish material grade, fit, construction, outsole, packaging or testing requirements. These decisions must be evaluated through a physical development process.
Clarify the direction
Identify the silhouette, intended use, target market, fit expectation and visible product priorities.
Assess feasibility
The partner factory reviews materials, construction, existing lasts and outsoles, technical risk and development conditions.
Develop the sample
A paid physical sample exposes proportion, fit, material behavior and construction details that cannot be confirmed from a picture.
Quote the product
Mocario issues the formal quotation after the developed product and applicable commercial conditions have been assessed.
02 — Product inputs
Give the factory enough information to evaluate the direction.
Provide what is known and mark undecided details for assessment. The objective is a useful technical conversation, not a completed specification on day one.
Reference and use
Images or physical sample, target customer, Indoor-Only Use or Indoor / Light Outdoor Use, and destination market.
Upper and lining
Material type, thickness or weight, texture, color, warmth, hand feel and appearance.
Fit and sizing
Size range, width direction, internal measurements, target fit and any reference moccasin slipper.
Footbed and outsole
Cushioning, support, thickness, flexibility, grip and suitable existing outsole direction.
Brand and packaging
Logo files, label placement, packaging components, barcodes, carton marks and artwork status.
Commercial context
Expected quantity, color and size mix, target timing, testing, inspection and FOB requirements.
03 — Factory assessment
Test the concept against production reality.
Mocario presents the defined direction to the partner factory. The factory assesses manufacturability and identifies the questions that require material confirmation or physical sampling.
Construction
Whether the proposed pattern, seam, lining, footbed and assembly method can work together.
Materials
Availability, minimums, batch variation, performance and compatibility with the intended construction.
Existing components
Suitable existing lasts and outsole references that can support the product direction.
Development risk
Fit, appearance, durability, timing or cost questions that must be resolved before order discussion.
Quotation boundary
Early figures may support feasibility discussion, but the formal quotation follows the developed product and the factory's assessment of its actual materials, construction and commercial conditions.
04 — Paid sample development
Use the sample to replace assumptions with evidence.
Physical samples are produced by the partner factory after the development conditions are assessed. Sample fees and sample courier costs are paid by the customer and are non-refundable or non-creditable.
Develop
The factory builds the physical sample using the agreed development direction and available materials.
Check
Mocario performs an initial physical review and records visible points requiring clarification.
Revise
Customer-requested changes and supplier execution deviations are separated, assessed and documented.
Approve
The customer confirms shape, fit, materials, construction and visible details before the next commercial stage.
05 — From sample to order
Approval closes development decisions before PPS.
The approved development sample supports the formal quotation and order discussion. It does not replace the pre-production sample required before bulk purchasing and production.
Formal quotation
Based on the developed product, quantity assumptions and assessed commercial conditions.
PO and PI
Confirm the product, price, quantity, payment, packaging, testing, inspection and delivery terms.
PPS preparation
The factory prepares the production-standard sample after the order and initial payment conditions are completed.
Written approval
Bulk material purchasing and production begin only after written customer approval of the PPS.
